New Artist: Dan Croll

Oh boy, are you going to be happy with us today! Why you ask, Oh I don't know, maybe because we're about to introduce you to your new favorite artist...Dan Croll.  Honestly, the UK is just a damn hotbed for talented artists. Always has been, always will. Croll is no exception and no stranger to crafting those perfectly-posionously-catchy melodies. "From Nowhere" is the debut single, and well...I'll just let it speak for itself.

Clad in his cuffed white tee shirt and round glasses, he has become the new guilty pleasure for many people I know. I have been playing this track at about 55 volume with the windows down, more or less every chance I get...and the girls love it too.

Yeah that's right, you just saw Croll singing "I just want to compliment your soul" while gazing directly into the eyes of a mannequin bear. Croll starts with a C, and so does "Catchy as Shit." Coincidence? I think not. I am actually going to revert 10 years back, to the Myspace era to post this track because its the only place I could find it and I think you should hear it.

<a class="my_play my_27" title="Only Ghost" href="" style="display:inline-block;margin:0;padding:0;border:0;width:27px;height:27px;overflow:hidden;text-indent:-9999px;background:url( no-repeat 0 -85px;">Only Ghost</a><script defer="true" src=""></script>

The first 25 seconds of this track are textbook singer / songwriter pop. You may even have the urge to flip this, when suddenly you realize why Croll has been distancing himself from the rest of the pack. The arrangement that is the chorus of "Only Ghost" will help you understand why Croll is making waves. His debut EP, From Nowhere, is a colorful release that marries authentically colorful tempos with intelligently manifested vocal melodies. He'll be the indie poster boy for 2013 and we're damn glad about it.
