Early twenty-something prodigy snatched up by the Jonsi touring crew to lace bass lines into Icelandic eargasms, Ulfur is Ulfur Hansson, a closet electronica guru who plays D&D when not on the road with the dude from Sigur Ros. True story. Check out the odd bios Jonsi put together. Anyhow, he's mining field recordings he took himself to create equally epic soundscapes of his country's most famous musicians right now, cinematic, twinkling magic that when paired with fellow Icelander Mani M. Sifgusson's visuals, will just make you angry you can't possibly ever create something so stunning:

As it's about time the rest of the Sigur Ros and Jonsi crew gets some cred, the groundswell on Ulfur is still marginal, which is a beautiful parallel to think about, as he readies his virgin solo LP White Mountain, dropping untouched far off ambient swirls like its title track - a glacial hum of a falsetto-brushed journey one hopes never gets torn up by civilization too hard:
