Remixes

Here at We Are The Guard, we love a good remix. De Hofnar takes DENM’s garage pop and turns it up on his reimagining of Lit. De Hofnar, aka Jeroen Maas, is known to interlace electronic hums with classic sounds.
Mossy’s variation on Lido’s Dye is how experimentation should be done. Evidently, Lido agrees since he hand selected it to be a part of his Everything Remixed album. The follow-up album to 2016’s everything shows that collaboration can make magic with the company of Soft Glas, Dan Farber, and more.
It obvious to see why DENM has been on our radar. If ranking #1 on Spotify and Soundcloud is not enough to convince you to put the indie artist on your list, then perhaps listening to his debut EP, Dreamhouse, will help out a bit. Today We Are The Guard is coming at you with two new remixes from Niklas Ibach and Nicolas Haelg.
Dutch producer R3hab has experimented and put out tracks that cover an array of styles and colors within the electronic scene. From big heavy hitting drops and original songs to dark remixes and bigger than life sounds, but none fit him as well as the lush soundscape that make We Are: The Guard readers fall back in love with house music.
Lolz at first I was all like, Omgee, Ice-T is back in the game Woop Woop. It took me a second to zap out of my buzz to realize it was Killer Mike and Tkay Maidza sounding so fresh and so fierce thanks to the adderall infused rework of producer Vasco. The production is quite fitting as it adds the playfulness that the original version lacked.
The curse of 2016 struck once again on November 7 when it was announced that Leonard Cohen had passed away at the age of 82. Mere weeks prior, Cohen had graced us with his fourteenth and final studio album, the beguiling You Want It Darker – the title track for which today receives an unlikely remix from German electronic veteran Paul Kalkbrenner.
Los Angeles-based producer TOKiMONSTA has just been signed by our sister publishing company, Brill Building, and we cannot wait for her new album to drop in 2017. So while we wait for her and Beck to release their anticipated new albums, we’re super excited to share her awesome remix of his track, WOW.
Tiesto has rekindled the magic of the titanic gem that is Beyonce’s Drunk In Love with a game-changing remix. It kicks and bumps in all the right places and you genuinely have to try to not enjoy it.
