On today’s post we’re bringing to you some of the hottest records to come out this week along with something special that’s near and dear to us. So to all the single people, to all the lovers with romantic plans for tonight, let this playlist get you pumped for the action or lack thereof that will take place today. No, no, this isn’t some list of the most romantic songs to woo your bea with, this is us doing what we do each week … and with that, let’s get straight into the latest from Kendrick Lamar, Diplo, jesse saint john, Marian Hill, and more.

KERO KERO BONITO - ONLY ACTING

Few songs, in this case music videos, give us the same feeling we get of when we ride a rollercoaster after some shots of fireballs. “Only Acting” pushes a trigger that causes the alarm in our brains to go from pleasure to panic. Call us sick, but we’re kinda liking this terrifyng vibe from the latest of London trio Kero Kero Bonito.

JESSE SAINT JOHN - MOVE

‘Member when I says to you in the opening paragraph of something near and dear to us? Well, this is what I was referring to. We had the pleasure of working with singer songwriter jesse saint john to release his debut single “MOVE.” It’s been gaining massive attention from the internet blogz and to help spread the electrifying sound we’ve placed it as #1 on our Spotify charts. Check it, replay it, and save it!

EMINEM - RIVER FT. ED SHEERAN

Just in time for lovers day, Eminem and Ed Sheeran drop riveting visuals for “River” and DAAAANNG! This is better than watching back to back reruns of Jerry Springer. Felicia, get the popcorn!

BULOW - NOT A LOVE SONG

Guys, how many times have I personally told you to pay attention/keep an eye on an artist? A lot, and this is one of the moments. If you haven’t yet, do so now and keep bulow on lock. This Norwegian teenager has seemed to unlocked the secret sauce of making pop songs and “Not A Love Song” is the start of something huge.

DIPLO - GET IT RIGHT FEAT MO & GOLDLINK

Diplo and Mo may have already wooed us over with their perfectly synchronized dance video, but with this remix above featuring GoldLink it makes me feel kind of robbed. I would have loved to see a threesome dancing to “Get It Right.” I’ll be creating a petition to have the video for the single to be redone with GoldLink as their front and center.

KENDRICK LAMAR - BLACK PANTHER

Black Panther, the most anticipated Marvel movie to come out since Iron Man, drops in theaters this week and with it comes a star studded soundtrack curated by Kendrick Lamar. Lamar seems to be having an outstanding year in music so it seems fitting to have this hip hop force drive a movie that is expected to blow away expectations.

TINASHE - FADED LOVE FT FUTURE

Does anyone else get an Aaliyah senese about Tinashe? Perhaps it’s her sultry vocals and dance beats. Anyways, “Faded Love’ is the latest to come from her. The single features some sizzling lines from Future who’s part helps make this another promising single for Tinashe.

MARIAN HILL - SUBTLE THING

When comparing duo Marian Hill, I come out dry. The pair draw influences from various artists and genres but to pick one act in particular that they resemble is puzzling because they’re making sure to stand out from any form of pop we’ve grown accustomed to. Will “Subtle Thing” be their next “Down?” Will “Subtle Thing” eb not so subtle?

6LACK - CUTTING TIES

Atlanta’s hottest new rapper 6lack drops his first single of the year and it’s nothing short of what we’ve come to expect. “Cutting Ties” drifts along the same somber style that pushes the theme of breaking up and being free. To me it’s nerve wracking and my impulsive advice to 6lack is to quit thinking about it and get it done ‘cus I need some new music.

JACOB BANKS, LOUIS THE CHILD - DIDDY BOP

Because we’re not totally scrooges when it comes to this day we give you a little something something to turn up the heat on your evening. You could thank us for your baby making sesh but your gratitude should really go to Jacob Banks and Louis the Child who give us a beautiful ballad perfect for your dinner for two.

And on that note, I leave you all but promise to return next week with more pop music.

Beca Arredondo is easily unamused with all things not related to her interests.  On her good days you can catch her avoiding the California sun and glued to her Mac plotting the next big thing. If you happen to run into her on the street and notice her wearing headphones do NOT disturb her. She is not responsible for any possible damage. Aside from the above she's very sweet and perky and responds well to good music and food.
